Set in an unknown era, a young lad whose name, interestingly enough, isn’t mentioned at all in the game visits his uncle’s home to see if he has returned from his latest adventure.
The Frogmen have domesticated dragons (though the dragons of the setting are based on the Cumberland dragon, more like a two-legged Morrowind creature than the typical flying dragon), and use the creatures primarily as beasts of burden, or for warfare if necessary. Thus the story of Uncle Fred unfolds and his nephew’s adventure to find his lost whereabouts. Their souls are on average larger than that of a human, their meditative ability is on average stronger, and they tend to be luckier.įrogman society is lead by a High Priest who commands the tribe's lesser Priests and Holy Warriors, who are in charge of maintaining an orderly tribe, protecting it from external threats, and rooting out undead and demons.įrogmen have their own class of mages, known as "poisoncallers", who write their magical talismans using their poisonous mucus, and who naturally regenerate their wounds at remarkable speeds. They are extremely devout, and their tribes are theocratic in structure, with the most spiritually powerful priest leading the tribe. They mainly live in tribal hunter societies, scattered in the jungles, swamps, or underground fungal bogs of the world, and use spears, macuahuitl, and blow darts. Their bodies are weaker and slower than that of humans, likely as a result of the fact they don't need to worry about predation. Due to their toxicity, they have no natural predators. Their eyes glow slightly, have long tongues, and reproduce via mouth-brooding.
Humanoid frogs standing about 4 feet high, with brightly-colored skin covered by a poisonous mucus. The males of the species make use of gravity magic to pull earth towards themselves to form a protective burrow as well as pulling in females that are still under the effects of their anti-gravity enchantments. Between these jumps, the females will mate with local males that lack this migratory behavior and lay eggs fertilized by the males from before their last jump. This leap back down is more dangerous as the float hopper must wait for their enchantment to wear off while they are stuck in mid-air and vulnerable to aerial predators. When the enchantment has ended and they are back to normal weight, they will climb down to the grass-side of the floating island and wait for the island to pass over a suitable body of water to leap down towards. Due to Warclema's floating islands staying aloft through a magnetic-approach to gravity, once the float hopper has gotten close enough to the side of the island, they'll find that their anti-gravity magic pulls them towards the the upper side where they will experience double their normal weight. The females of this species of frog have developed anti-gravity magic to allow it to jump high enough to reach floating continents.
